What makes resilience the most important factor in entrepreneurship? Why should business angels invest not just capital but, above all, their time? How does German founding culture compare to the Y Combinator model? And why is it sometimes better to understand a technology only 80 percent rather than 100 percent?
Göran Göhring has been a successful entrepreneur for more than 20 years, a business angel for eight, and the author of three books. He founded Stack&Friends, led the agency for two decades, and exited successfully. Today he leads Next Mobility Labs and is involved with more than 25 startups. In conversation with Tina Dreimann of Better Ventures, Göran explains his philosophy of angel investing and why his motto “No wall is too high” is directly tied to his escape from East Germany one week before the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Angel Talk episode shows how business angels create real value through smart money and mentoring, why Germany needs bolder founders, and how the startup scene differs from American models like Y Combinator.
